PRE-ENROLLMENT PROGRAM

SUMMER PROGRAMS  PARIS

Summer Intensive Studies: Paris

The Summer Intensive Studies: Paris program allows you to experience this vibrant city from an insider's perspective, exploring the history of European art and design first-hand in Paris' hundreds of museums and design studios. The program is open to all students who wish to deepen their knowledge of art and design in a rigorous academic environment. Classes meet at sites throughout the city, ranging from art and design exhibitions, to architectural landmarks and parks. Course work is complemented by weekend excursions and day trips in and around Paris.

Faculty
Courses are taught by Parsons faculty, supplemented by a number of New York and Paris-based artists and designers. Guest lecturers and critics present on current professional practices and trends from their respective disciplines.

Campus and Classroom
Summer classes are held outdoors, on location, in museums and at special exhibitions. Fashion illustration, photography, and some pre-college drawing and painting classes are held at the Parsons Studios at 14, rue Letellier, on the left bank of the Seine near the Eiffel Tower.

Supplies
Students are expected to provide their own art supplies. A list of required and recommended materials will be sent to each registrant before the summer session begins. Expenses are estimated at a cost of $400.

Registration
Registration for Summer Intensive Studies: Paris will begin in late fall. Visit Registration for more details. Early registration is advised.

Travel to Paris
Students may make their own flight arrangements or join the Parsons group flight from New York. A member of the Parsons staff will meet this flight at the Paris airport and escort students to the dorms. Parsons staff do not travel with the students on the flight.
