The Edge of the City: Architecture and Landscape
Session I: May 22-June 16
Session I: College/Adult PNNY 0314 Section A
This Manhattan studio on the future of the waterfront examines the
space on the edges of New York City where the earth meets the sea
and the sky (and not found on any tourist map). This investigation is
conducted by formulating questions about the future of the built and
natural environment and then answering these questions using strategies
from in- and outside the field of architecture. Outcomes will include
plans for small public buildings, landscapes, parks, piers, and boats
produced through drawing by hand, drawing on the computer, and
three-dimensional models. Note: This course is available for graduate credit. Students enrolling at the
graduate level should indicate this status on the Registration Form.
