Pre-College Photography is full for Summer 2006.
We would be happy to speak with students about alternative courses.
Please contact us at summer@newschool.edu or 212.229.8925. Pre-college students who are building a portfolio for college admission are encouraged to enroll in Drawing and Painting.
Use New York City's endless resource of people and places to explore your
personal vision. The essentials of fine art and documentary photography are explored.
Beginning students master basic skills in both analog and digital, while more advanced
students gain a stronger sense of concept and theme in their work. Students divide their
days between on-site shoots, the lab, and classroom critiques/lectures. Sites range from
unique events and places not on the tourist map to the everyday urban landscape. All work
will be done in black and white. Students are required to have a 35mm camera with manual settings.
