Session II: Pre-College PNNY 0170 Section A
Drawing & Design is full for Summer 2006.
We would be happy to speak with students about alternative courses.
Please contact us at summer@newschool.edu or 212.229.8925. Pre-college students who are building a portfolio for college admission are encouraged to enroll in Drawing and Painting.
Combining drawing and design, this course is intended for students who are eager to
develop drawing skills to begin their portfolio for college admission
and investigate design. One half of the course will be dedicated to strengthening and honing observational drawing
skills using the observed world as dynamic visual material, from still lifes and figure studies in the studio to
outdoor sites throughout New York City. The other half of the course will focus on design. Projects will
expose students to the fields of fashion design, product design, and graphic design. Students will use various techniques professional use in their practices to explore the interdisciplinary nature of the of the design process.
