New York or Paris? Our Summer Intensive Studies programs take place in New York and Paris. These two and four-week-long sessions are boot camps in art and design. College-level and adult students delve into a particular design discipline or prepare for graduate study. Pre-college students over 16 years old can enroll in either of the college-level Summer Intensive programs to improve their art and design skills and develop portfolios that will earn admission to their college of choice. Pre-college students can also enroll in summer courses at Parsons Pre-College Academy. All students will benefit from the academically rigorous environment, plus exposure to one of two world capitals of art and design.
Architecture, Interior, and Lighting Design Intensives. The five-week-long Summer Studies in Constructed Environments adheres to the same exacting standards as Summer Intensive Studies, yet focuses on architecture, interior design, and lighting design skills for current college students and college graduates. The curriculum is studio-based and surveys design, drawing, digital representation and computer skills, architectural analysis, and design history and theory; classes take to the streets of New York to learn from the cityscape. Students leave this program prepared to study for a professional master’s degree and embark on rewarding careers.
Graduate Credit Courses. The Masters Program in the History of Decorative Arts operates two-week Graduate International Summer Program in Berlin. In addition, the Bank Street College of Education and Parsons offer a joint three-summer Leadership in the Arts graduate degree program for Arts Educators, that leads to a Masters of Science in Education.
Online Registration for Summer 2010 starts on November 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m EST.
