Susan Yelavich, author of Contemporary World Interiors (Phaidon), argues that public and private spaces, from the home to the office to the hospital, are increasingly blurring. Following a lecture that traces this phenomenon around the globe, Yelavich and the panel will discuss how our current moment of globalization is not only yielding a new elasticity in design typologies, but also a re-emergence of complexity, craft, and ornament.
Panelists include: Stephen Cassell, principal, Architecture Research Office, New York; Linda Pollak, principal, Marpillero Pollak Architects, New York; and Billie Tsien, principal, Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, New York.
