Careers
Students pursue a wide range of careers upon graduation. Many students wish to work in brand strategy, public relations, advertising, marketing, retail buying and events management in the design industry in NYC and abroad. Some recent positions earned by our graduates include:
• Associate Brand Strategist, Ogilvy & Mather
• Assistant Manager for Marketing Communications, L'Oreal
• Retail Buyer, Giorgio Armani
• Internet Buyer, Steve Madden
• Editorial Assistant, Forbes
• Account Executive, AGA Marketing and Design
Many of our graduates go on to open their own businesses. They use their liberal arts, design and management backgrounds to create unique offerings in a variety of industries. Some examples in NYC include:
• Billy's Bakery (21st and 9th) - Nostalgia bakery featuring the look, feel and baked goods of 1940s Midwestern America
• Belle Fleur (11 East 22nd, Chelsea) - Top floral design boutique serving the fashion design industry in Manhattan; rave reviews from W, New York Magazine, Zagat Market Place, and Bride's Magazine
• Alice's Teacup (102 West 73rd Street) - Restaurant and tea house on the Upper West Side; creates and sells their own product line
Other graduates attend graduate schools. A common path is to pursue a law degree in order to work on intellectual property issues related to the design industries or to work for several years before pursuing an MBA.
