In 1906, Frank Alvah Parsons launched the first Interior Design program in the United States. Parsons remains the international leader in Interior Design education. The program responds to the demand for professionals who can move a project from a theoretical, visually represented, idea-based concept through detailed technical resolution. Students work with a faculty of top professional designers at the school's Greenwich Village location to create comprehensive building space solutions. Internships, design competitions, and showcase opportunities in prepare students for a future in residential, contract-commercial or hospitality design, design management, design journalism and education. This degree, combined with a professional apprenticeship, also qualifies students for the NCIDQ professional licensing examination. In the spring , the department will sponsor AFTER TASTE, a symposium exploring new agendas for the study interior design.
